The number of new corona cases in the state reached its highest level on Thursday. The number of new victims on Friday also surpassed that milestone. According to a bulletin issued by the state health department this evening, 1,794 people have been caught in the last 24 hours. Due to this, the total number of corona patients in the state is now 36 thousand 11. 26 people have died in the last 24 hours. At the same time, the daily infection rate i.e. positivity rate has also increased by a few steps from yesterday to 14.3 percent.




According to a health department bulletin, the number of new infections in Kolkata in the last 24 hours has surpassed all previous ones. For the first time on Tuesday, that number surpassed 500 in one fell swoop. On this day, 563 people were infected with a corona in Kolkata. Of the 26 people killed on the day, 12 were residents of Kolkata.




Concerns about corona infection are growing in Kolkata as well as in several districts of the state. Apart from Kolkata, there are concerns over the corona situation in two 24 parganas, Howrah, Hooghly and East Midnapore. In the last 24 hours, 443 people have been newly infected in North 24 Parganas, 160 in South 24 Parganas, 162 in Howrah, 63 in Hughli and 29 in East Midnapore. Pictures of concern have also been captured in North Bengal. In the last 24 hours, 69 new cases have been reported in South Dinajpur, 7 in Malda, 64 in Darjeeling and 31 in Jalpaiguri.




Yesterday, the state had a positivity rate of 12.6 per cent. On this day, of course, it has gone up a few steps. The percentage of people who are being tested every day, the percentage of reports that come back positive, is called the rate of infection per day. The first corona patient was found in the state on March 16. Since then, the rate of infection has been on the rise. According to a bulletin issued by the state health department on Friday evening, a total of 13,240 samples were tested. Of these, 1,794 were caught in the corona. In other words, the infection rate in the last 24 hours is 14.3 percent.




So far 22,253 people have recovered from Corona in the state. 636 have recovered in the last 24 hours. Now the recovery rate is 56.54 percent.
