According to a bulletin released by the state health department this evening, 2,291 new corona infections have been detected in the state in the last 24 hours. As a result, the total number of infected people in the state has increased to 49,321. Of these, 1,615 people have recovered in one day. As a result, 29,650 people have recovered after conquering Corona. The recovery rate is 80.11 percent. Meanwhile, the number of active patients is 16,450.

In addition to the infection, the death march continues in the state with this deadly virus. In the last 24 hours, 29 more people have fallen victim to the virus. As a result, the total death toll stood at 1,221.

The government has already taken several steps to break the chain of transmission. Notable among which is the lockdown across the state. At a recent press conference in Navanne, Home Secretary Alapan Banerjee said the complete lockdown would be confirmed on Thursday and Saturday this week. There will be a statewide lockdown next Wednesday. After that, when the lockdown will happen again, it will be decided by the next meeting of the state administration. In the words of the Home Secretary, 'These two days of the week, all the offices, vehicles will be completely closed. The lockdown will be announced in advance so that the concerned office or transport agency can prepare. The lockdown will continue two days a week in August.

The total number of cases of corona in India reached close to 1.2 million on Wednesday. In a medical bulletin published this morning, the Union Ministry of Health said that the total number of people infected with coronavirus in the country was 11,92,915. Of these, 4,11,133 are undergoing treatment. So far, the recovery rate in the country is 83.1 percent. The total death toll has risen to 26,632.
