Online admission processing fee waived in the state due to corona, maximum amount can be taken by the colleges specified by the Department of Higher Education

Generally, some colleges charge Rs 350 as processing fee and some colleges charge up to Rs 400 for the online admission process.

The state has fixed the maximum amount that colleges have to charge as processing fee for online admission process. Students will be able to charge a maximum of Rs 150 as processing fee for online form collection, submission, uploading of various information or certificates.

The higher education department sent such instructions to the vice-chancellors of state universities on Tuesday night. Accordingly, the vice-chancellors of various universities in the state have already issued guidelines to the colleges under them.

Colleges have been asked to waive these fees in the Corona situation. Generally, some colleges charge Rs 350 as processing fee and some colleges charge up to Rs 400 for the online admission process.

After the online admission process started this year too, news came to the higher education department and the education minister that several colleges were taking money from students in this way. The amount of money that colleges can charge a student to complete the online admission process is then specified.

The process of admission of students at the undergraduate level in the state colleges has already started as per the directions of the State Department of Higher Education. The Department of Higher Education, however, has been told to make the entire student admission process online based on the college.

Not only that, in case of any incident, any student cannot come to the college for the admission process, that is why students can pay from the bank online, the Department of Higher Education has also instructed in that regard.

The online admission process in colleges has started over the last few years. In that case, students from different colleges used to charge different fees to make it easier to collect the forms online. But this year, in the Corona situation, it has been decided how much the colleges can charge per student for the online admission process.

Already a number of student organizations have been vocal in their demands, including the waiver of admission fees. However, this online admission process has nothing to do with how much money the colleges will charge students for admission, according to the Department of Higher Education.

In that case, the colleges will be given a fixed limit on how much money they can charge for admission or no decision has been taken on that, according to the State Higher Education Department.
